Recreation Department
The Recreation Department maintains recreation facilities and provides year-round activities and programs that positively impact the health, safety, and welfare of the residents. With three (3) playground parks, one (1) nature park, a dog park, portions of Susquehanna Bikeway, Miller’s Run Greenway and a seasonal community pool located in the Township there are plenty of reasons to get your family outside. All parks have pavilions that are available to rent during the spring, summer, and fall.
The Community Recreation Center is available to rent for sports and special events. The department also offers recreation programs year-round within the parks, pool, and at the Community Recreation Center.
STEP Office of Aging
The Loyalsock Center for Healthy Aging is now located within the Loyalsock Community Recreation Center located at 1607 Four Mile Drive in Williamsport. For more information on the programs offered please call 570-601-9590.
Pavilion Information
Pavilions at each park can be reserved up to one year in advance. All facilities are equipped with full service restrooms, charcoal grills, and electric.

Recreation Center and Community Room Information
The Loyalsock Community Recreation Center hosts a gym and Community Room. Both are available for rentals. The gym and/or community room can be rented for basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, birthday parties, meetings, special events, and more. If you are interested or have questions, please contact the Recreation Department. The prices are listed below.
Sports Use-Hourly Rates (1 hr minimum) -Gym only
Resident: $25.00 per hr or $15.00 per ½ hr
Non-Resident: $45.00 per hr or $25.00 per ½ hr
Parties/Events (1 hr minimum) – Gym or Community Room
Resident: $35.00 per hr or $20.00 per ½ hr
Non-Resident: $55.00 per hr or $30.00 per ½ hr
Discount: During the hours of 12:00pm – 2:30pm; Monday – Friday:
Resident: $15.00/hr. and Non-Resident: $25.00/hr.
In addition to the regular payment a security deposit equal to the amount of your rental fee (up to $100) will be charged. This will be returned following your rental after we have verified that all of the rules were followed, and the area was returned to the way it was prior to your rental. Renters are responsible for set up and tear down of tables, chairs, and volleyball net. Please schedule time accordingly.

Pool Information
The Loyalsock Community Pool has been a favorite recreational past time for residents since it was first built in 1966. Updates to the pool deck, gutter system, piping, installation of handicapped accessible ramp, and installation of a new pool liner were done in the early 2000’s. The double pool slide was installed in 201, a new pool liner was installed in 2018, and a new splash pool was installed and opened to the public in 2019.

E-Bike Ordinance Information
To improve safety in our parks, the Loyalsock Township Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance that prohibits the use of e-bikes and e-scooters in all township parks.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation defined an e-bike as, “a pedalcycle with electric assist.” An e-bike has operable pedals plus a motor that cannot exceed 20 mph. Riders must be 16 years or older to operate one. It defined an e-scooter as, “a device with two in-line wheels, handlebars, a floorboard to stand on, and an electric motor.” These are not legal to operate on public roadways; they are exclusively for use on private property. Both transportation devices are powered by rechargeable batteries. The rider can manually power the e-bike or e-scooter or use the battery to increase their speed.
It amended Chapter 150-1 of the code states the following acts are prohibited on the premises of public parks and recreation areas owned by the Loyalsock Township Board of Supervisors: The possession of e-bikes and e-scooters in township parks is prohibited. For purposes of this ordinance, the definition of e-bikes shall include motorized pedalcycles, motor scooters, Segways, e-bikes, or similar non-human powered vehicles No person shall ride a bicycle, human-powered scooter, or skateboard, in a careless, negligent or reckless manner to create a nuisance or endanger the well-being or property of others or as to cause damage to any township park. While bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters are permitted on recreational trails owned by the township, unless a recreational trail is specifically designated as for walking or running only, no person shall ride a bicycle, e-bike, e-scooter, scooter, or skateboard on a recreational trail owned by the township in a careless, negligent, or reckless manner as to create a nuisance or endanger well-being or property of others or as to cause damage to any township parks.
Mobility aids like motorized scooters and electric wheelchairs are permitted.
